Online creative writing is generally free and a cheap and flexible resource.  I have used the following:

National Novel Writing Month - I can't say enough good things about NaNoWriMo!  Get rid of the self-editor in you and write with abandon.  You will be shocked at the amount of words you can put to paper when you put your mind to it - some of it good, some of it not so much.  But at the end of the month, when you cross that finish line with a 200 page draft, it is all worth it!

Free online creative writing, why not?

One.Page.Per.Day - Just as the name suggests, write one page per day.  The site is very simple, and so is the premise.
